Winter Garden used to be groves and groves of orange trees. This has been taken over by housing and shopping; however, there are still little groves of oranges all around. We found one that lets you pick a huge Target bag full for $3. I only had a $10 so we loaded up some neighbor girls and picked 3 huge bags full. The kids had fun, but stupid me wore sandals and if you're not familiar with fire ants, you never want to be. I marched out into that orange grove and found little black ants crawling all over my feet. I had been bit before so I grabbed Summer who had sandals on too and we ran to the car. Summer was lucky enough not to get bit, but I got 4 bites. The next morning my foot felt like it was on fire - hence the name. You get blisters and itch like crazy. These little ants look just like the innocent ants in Utah, but they are wicked, wicked creatures. Back to the oranges: We got the oranges home and they are kind of ugly little fruits with brown spots unlike the pretty orange ones you buy at the grocery store. But don't let appearances deceive you - they were so sweet and delicious inside. I'm glad we picked so many now. We may even go back - with tennis shoes ofcourse.
Later that night we decided to run to Magic Kingdom for a couple of hours to ride some rides and watch the fireworks. Disneyworld is so big that even after you park and ride the tram, you have to ride the monorail to the entrance. Well we got an awesome parking place right at the front because it was about 6:30 by now. We rode Pirates without a wait and rode Rocky Mountain Railroad 3 times in 15 minutes before it shut down. It was so much fun not having to wait in line. On the last ride for the day, Dale and the kids could see the fireworks as they rode the rollercoaster. After 2 times, Summer decided she didn't like that ride and would never go on it again!
I got a new calling - Young Women's secretary. I've been this before and I'm excited to do it again. One of my assignments is to update the YW blog - good thing I learned how to do this.
It's another beautiful day in Florida!

Oh I am so sorry about the ants. That happened to me when I was little and I am still scarred. Ants are my most hated insect. That's so cool about the oranges though. I love farms where you can pick your own fruit.
I HATE those fire ants!! Evil creatures! That is not a fond memory...the fire ants and the sand gnats! But the sun and sandals in January is wonderful!! :)
We just ordered tangelos from FL and they came today! They are SO good. My in laws do this every year. I just got called to Cubs, which actually will be great because Taylor starts now and we will go together, therefore, I will have to learn the program. Hope your feet feel better.
I just noticed how you gave each of us an adjective that describes our personality on your blog! I enjoyed reading those. Clever! :)
Hey there lady! I got to your blog from Hilary's! It was so fun to read up on your family! Your boys are huge and you've added another one! Congrats! Tell everyone hi from the Miles Family!
Annelyse and Lily wanted to say how much they like the orange picture! It's funny they said. Annelyse said that you should do one of Summer and Taylor. :)
