Graduation

This is what you get when you have older siblings. Max was having a blast being pushed around in the shopping cart, but then the girls tired of him and left him here to fen for himself as they gawked at the TV.

Taylor earned his Arrow of Light for Cub Scouts and has moved on to Boy Scouts. I know the cub scouts has a lot of fun and good information for the kids, but it is a lot of work for the moms. I'm counting down for Kendall to be out of there. Taylor also graduates from Elementary school next week! He is way too small to be going to middle school.

Here is cute Summer in her graduation cap and gown. Through her extreme toil she has graduated from preschool and will be starting Kindergarten.

Prowler

It's 12:30 am last night and I'm in the office working on a banner for youth conference when Shelby starts barking at the back door. Dale is out of town so my heart starts to beat a little faster. I go look out the glass door and see flash light beams briefly. Someone is out there! I go into my bedroom and look out the window and see the holder of the flashlight come through my back gate! I'm curious as to who it is and what they think they are doing coming in my yard. By this time, Shelby is scared out of her wits and won't leave my side. As I continue to watch this man, he goes to the back of my fence and starts looking over the edge. He must be looking for something or someone. Then it dawns on me, that's my next door neighbor. I wonder if he has lost his little doggie so I open the door. Weeeohhh Weeoohhh goes the loud house alarm. I turn it off and yell out the door, but he doesn't hear me. So now I'm worried that poor Benny has been eaten by an alligator. Then even worse thoughts go through my head, "What if their snake has escaped?" Well, Shelby and I snuggled together and went to bed at 1:30. After worrying all morning, Benny was outside and everything was fine. He was just playing hide and seek and didn't realize they didn't want to play. I'm so glad we didn't lose Shelby's play buddy.

Getting Warmer

The weather has been getting warmer - into the 90's and the swimming water is nice. A family in our ward that lives close by has a fun pool. They invited us over to swim last night for FHE. They also had a Cinco de Mayo party which was very fun.
This is "Grandma Edie". She is so good to Max. She takes him at church for me which is such a help. This is Max's first time swimming. He loved it.

I bought a bunch of jewelry recently so I told Dale not to buy me a Mother's day gift. It's just easier that way. Then I get what I want and Dale doesn't have to worry about it. This has become a bad habit though because secretly I do want a little surprise from him. Well he gave me a big surprise - a new camera! (Thanks honey) I need to learn to use all the features, but hopefully we'll start to have some crisper pictures on the blog.

Sunday we put Shelby out to go potty before church and oops - left her out there. She pretended she was an escape artist and got out of the fence and was trotting down the street when our next door neighbor (who has a cute little boy doggie that is in love with Shelby) found her. She kept ahold of her for us all afternoon - Thanks Audrey for saving Shelby.

Happy Birthday Taylor & Amy

Taylor turned 11 on Friday and we ventured to Epcot to have dinner with princesses. This was really more for Amy's birthday which was on Sunday - she turned 7. The kids had fun seeing the princesses, but the food was WAYYYY over priced for what it was. All in all, we'll chalk it up to a good memory.

I as a little lazy this year and only made one birthday cake for both of them. You have got to make this cake. Just bake any kind of chocolate cake in 2 round cake pans, cut the layers in half. Layer whipped cream between the layers with chopped strawberries. Then melt 1/2 a package of chocolate chips with a couple of Tbsp of butter and cream. Pour this over the top. It is Yummy Yummy.
Amy got a hippy hop ball which all the kids have been fighting over, a silly spongebob nightgown, Hannah Montana CD, and a necklace and purse. Taylor got an erector set.
I went to see "Wicked" last week - it was really good.
